Armored Elytra Mod

Armored Elytra solves one of the most annoying trade-offs in the game: choosing between chest armor and elytra wings. This add-on merges them into a single item that does both. You wear it as a chestplate during normal exploration, and when you jump from a height and press jump again mid-air, the wings deploy and you glide just like with a regular elytra.

Three Tiers, One Slot

The add-on comes in iron, diamond and netherite versions, each carrying the protection of its matching chestplate while in armored form. Crafting is simple: combine an elytra with the chestplate of your choice in any arrangement on the crafting grid. Durability is shared between the two forms, and the item can be repaired with Phantom Membranes or the relevant armor material. Enchantments and custom item data carry over when the form switches, so anything you put into the chestplate stays there.

Landing switches you back to the armored form automatically, so the whole transition is hands-free once you are in the air. Firework boosting works the same as always, and no experimental world settings are needed to run it.
