About Minecraft Maps

A map here is somebody's finished world: the terrain, the buildings, the command blocks and the rules that make it a game. Adventure maps tell a story, parkour maps hurt, puzzle maps make you think, survival islands drop you with nothing. Downloading one is the quickest way to see what people who have played for ten years can do with the same blocks you have.

The files are .mcworld packages for Bedrock Edition. Open one and the world lands in your list, ready to play; nothing is overwritten, it appears alongside your own saves. If a map asks for a specific game version, check it before starting β€” a world made for an older release can load with broken redstone or missing blocks.

Playing an adventure map, resist the urge to switch to creative. Most of them are built around a route the author planned, and flying over a wall usually skips the part that makes the map good. If you want to borrow a building from a map rather than play it, our schematics catalog is the better place β€” those can be dropped straight into your own world.
