Minecraft Preview 26.50.20: Sitting and Camp Updates
Minecraft Bedrock Preview 26.50.20 doesn't add anything brand new, but it cleans up a lot of rough edges left over from Cushions and the Dappled Forest since they first launched. Several bugs affecting these features are addressed in this build.
Sitting Feels Better Now
The Cushion mechanic picked up several small but meaningful fixes. Placing cushions side by side used to require careful positioning, but now you can just aim near an existing one and it snaps into place correctly. Sitting on a cushion that gets destroyed by lava no longer drops you into the ground beneath it. The crafting recipe also unlocks properly in the Recipe Book as soon as you obtain any of its ingredients, its display name is finally translated correctly, and the developers made two small adjustments to the physical placement: the cushion sits slightly lower on the block, and the sitting height itself was raised by a single texel for a more natural pose.
Abandoned Camps Generate Correctly
Cushions found inside Abandoned Camps now spawn with the right position, rotation, and color, fixing an issue where they either appeared wrong or didn't show up at all. Camps built in specific forest biomes now pull the matching biome variant instead of always defaulting to the standard Forest look. Secret Chests inside these camps are fixed too: the diamonds and potions they're supposed to contain now actually generate, instead of being replaced by Oxidized Copper Chains.
A Round of Dappled Forest Cleanup
- Poplar Saplings can be composted now
- Shelf Mushrooms burn properly in lava and gained breaking particles
- Wool Stairs and Slabs stopped conducting redstone signals
- Red Shrubs can be snowlogged
- Standing on a growing Shelf Mushroom no longer causes you to fall through it
- Dappled Forest wolves now correctly spawn as the Pale Wolf variant
- Poplar Logs joined the Wandering Trader's inventory
- Several visual issues were corrected, including the Poplar sign UI texture, the log's color palette, and missing closed captions for walking across Poplar Leaves
Smaller Fixes
Hoppers placed sideways at large coordinates stopped grabbing items incorrectly, and droppers facing east or south now properly launch items forward instead of dumping them into whatever container sits below. The Baby Fox's missing texture is back, and Vibrant Visuals no longer renders clouds as harsh white patches when the cloud render distance is set low. On the accessibility side, the separate Text to Speech with Device Settings toggle was removed, but text to speech itself is unaffected and still works through the regular accessibility menu.
