Sulfur Cube

The sulfur cube is the centerpiece of the update. Found in sulfur caves, it eats blocks and changes its behavior based on what it absorbs. Different blocks make it bounce, slide, explode, or deal contact damage. You can carry one in a bucket to bring it back to your base, or experiment with what feeding it TNT and magma blocks actually does. The cube is passive by default but becomes significantly less predictable once it's had a snack.

Sulfur Caves and Springs

Sulfur springs are the surface giveaway for what's underground. Spot yellow sulfur and red cinnabar blocks with noxious gas rising from bubbling pools and you've found one. Dig down and you'll hit a sulfur cave filled with glow lichen, shallow water, sulfur spikes, and sulfur cubes roaming around. Potent sulfur is the block powering the bubbling effect: place it under water to create your own hot pools, but stay out of the gas if you don't want nausea.

Geysers add a vertical element. A magma block under a submerged potent sulfur block creates a water column that launches anyone who walks over it into the air. Sulfur spikes grow on sulfur and cinnabar blocks and fall occasionally, though stepping on them is harmless.

Cinnabar and Sulfur Block Sets

Both cinnabar and sulfur come as complete block sets including cobbled versions, stairs, slabs, bricks, polished variants, and chiseled blocks. Cinnabar brings deep reds and sulfur adds bright yellows, giving builders two strong new accent colors to work with.

New Music

Composer fingerspit (Paula Ruiz) contributed six new tracks to the game. Five ambient tracks (Ebb, Home, Memories, Nightly, and Shores) play on the main menu, in Creative Mode, and across over 20 biomes including sulfur caves, cherry groves, jungles, deserts, and lush caves. The sixth is a music disc called Bounce, found in minecart chests inside mineshafts that generate within sulfur caves.
