Minecraft Bedrock 26.50 (Wilderness Bound) Released!
After weeks of testing in Preview and Beta, Wilderness Bound has left experimental status and shipped as a full release. Minecraft Bedrock Edition 26.50 is live now with the dappled forest, camping gear, and a new structure type built around the idea of exploring the wild and setting up shelter along the way.
A New Biome to Explore
The dappled forest sits near cold biomes and stands out immediately thanks to its poplar trees, which grow in three distinct color variants:
- Red Poplar Leaves
- Orange Poplar Leaves
- Yellow Poplar Leaves
Each variant has its own matching leaf particle color, and saplings dropped from any of them grow into a random one of the three. Wandering traders also carry saplings if you'd rather buy than harvest. Shelf mushrooms and leaf litter scatter naturally around the trees, and poplar logs unlock a complete new wood block set. Sheep, chickens, cows, pigs, rabbits, and foxes all spawn in the biome using their cold-climate variants.
Camps Scattered Across the Overworld
Abandoned Camps are the drop's new structure, and they're everywhere, generating in 18 different biomes with a design that changes depending on where they show up. The full list:
- Meadow, Cherry Grove, Forest, Birch Forest, Old Growth Birch Forest, Flower Forest, Windswept Forest, Dappled Forest
- Taiga, Snowy Taiga, Old Growth Spruce Taiga, Old Growth Pine Taiga
- Sparse Jungle, Bamboo Jungle
- Swamp, Savanna, Wooded Badlands, Pale Garden
Loot comes from chests and barrels scattered around each camp, and some of those chests hold Explorer Maps pointing toward Ancient Cities, Mineshafts, Desert Pyramids, Warm Ocean Ruins, or other camp variants elsewhere in the world. You'll also find straw beds and cushions already placed inside.

New Ways to Rest
Two items round out the camping theme:
- Straw Bed: skips the night without setting your spawn point, crafted from 3 hay bales into 4 beds. It's single-use, breaks after one sleep, doesn't function in the Nether or End, and breaks faster when mined with a hoe.
- Cushion: a sittable item in all 16 wool colors, made from 3 matching wool slabs. It snaps to the grid horizontally, rests on top of its supporting block vertically, can't be repositioned, and breaks if that block is removed. It has no collision, so it can share space with anything except another cushion.

New Decorative Plants
- Red Shrub: composts normally, and bone meal spreads it to nearby open space
- Shelf Mushroom: grows on poplar trees and fallen logs in small and large sizes, bone meal upgrades a small one to large, works in stews, and has a slight bounce when stepped on similar to beds
More Building Options
Wool and concrete both picked up stairs and slabs in every one of their 16 colors, giving builders a lot more flexibility with two block sets that previously only came as full blocks.
