Medieval Water Mill

This schematic is a medieval water mill set at the edge of a pond, built from gray stone brick on the lower walls and dark timber above, with a steep gabled roof that rises to a sharp peak. The upper gable is decorated with a small green motif set into the stonework and topped by a glowing lantern window that catches the light, while the roofline is edged in dark wood that frames the whole front of the building. A large wooden water wheel sits against the side of the mill where it meets the pond, its frame reaching down toward the surface as the defining feature of the build.

Around the base, the mill blends into its surroundings with stone retaining walls, patches of grass and reeds spilling over the edges, and vines creeping up the timber supports. Hanging lanterns light the lower level and the small entrance below, set just above the water that wraps around the base of the structure. The mix of weathered stone, dark wood, and overgrown greenery gives the mill a lived in, rustic feel, making it a natural fit for a riverside village, a farming settlement, or any medieval build set near water.
