Rainbow Shader leans hard into color. It runs through the game's Vibrant Visuals rendering mode and reworks how that mode handles light, so the sky, the water and everything the light lands on come out far more saturated than the default look. The palette never sits still either, since what the world looks like depends heavily on where the clock is.
Instead of one flat tone per time of day, the sky is treated as a gradient that keeps moving. Midday is the brightest point of the cycle, a saturated cyan-blue, and from there it rolls off through pinks and reds in the evening before settling into cold violet for the night. The edges of the day get the most dramatic treatment, with a wide glow spreading out around the sun at dawn and dusk. The dark hours avoid going grey as well, because moonlight carries a tint that drifts between blue and green-teal as the night goes on.
Pushing saturation this far normally costs you detail in bright areas, and the pack handles that by grading dark, middle and bright ranges separately and running a tone curve over the result. Shadows land without hard outlines, so objects keep their depth while the colors stay loud. Water follows the same logic, with waves that actually move and rippling light patterns beneath the surface drawn specifically for this pack rather than taken from stock textures.
The Nether and the End change along with the Overworld, since the pack works on the lighting itself instead of being painted onto particular biomes. You do not have to switch anything when you step through a portal.
