Oceanic Overhaul is an add-on for Minecraft Bedrock that adds 8 new sea creatures to the game. The focus is on variety and atmosphere rather than gameplay mechanics: the creatures swim around their respective depths and make the ocean feel more populated and alive than in vanilla.
The roster leans heavily into deep-sea life, with six creatures found in deeper ocean zones. The selection pulls from some of the more unusual real-world deep-sea species that don't often make it into games: the Fangtooth with its oversized teeth, the eel-like Gulper with its enormous expandable jaw, the Vampire Squid with its dark webbed arms, the slimy and eel-shaped Hagfish, the small and bioluminescent Lantern Shark, and the rarely depicted Seven Armed Octopus. For shallower waters, the pack adds the Butterfly Fish and Triggerfish, which bring some color and visual variety to the areas closer to the surface.
The creatures swim through their respective zones and fill out the underwater world visually. It's a modest but effective approach, and the choice of species is genuinely interesting compared to the usual selection of generic fish mods. If you spend time exploring or building near the ocean, this add-on makes those biomes noticeably more interesting to move through.
